Director of Telehealth
Licensed Professional Counselor
Stephenie earned a Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling from Denver Seminary and Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Southwest Baptist University. Stephenie began her career working in the community mental health setting in the Littleton, Colorado area. While in this setting, she had the opportunity to work with people who were dealing with a variety of struggles including: anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, depression, stress management, women's issues, parenting education, spiritual matters, relationship/communication struggles, etc. After leaving the community mental health arena, Stephenie owned and operated her own private counseling practice out of the Centennial, Colorado area for four years before returning to her home state of Missouri.
She is a Board Certified Telehealth Therapist and has been trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Functional Family Therapy and has completed Level 3 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. Additionally, she has specialized training in Clinical Applications of Polyvagal Theory in Trauma treatment and has been counseling for nearly two decades. Stephenie believes that building a solid rapport with her clients is a foundational component in helping clients move forward in achieving their goals. Her therapeutic approach tends to be direct as she teaches her clients tangible coping skills. Most recently, she’s spent time working with couples and individual adults who struggle with anxiety and depression and has had the privilege of helping them learn to better manage these symptoms and even overcome them. Stephenie’s goals with her clients include helping them learn to be aware of the Lord’s presence and intentionality with their lives. She works hard to facilitate a setting where clients might become aware of Christ’s unfailing love for them so that they will learn to live and walk in His abundant love and grace.
When not working, Stephenie enjoys time with her family. She has been married to her college sweetheart for 18 years and they have two daughters together. Stephenie and her family enjoy reading books together, playing dress up, and having as many dance parties as possible. When she has the time, she also enjoys DIY house projects, time with friends, and shopping.
