Tressia earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Missouri Baptist University and a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership, Psychology concentration, from Urshan College. Her approach to counseling incorporates therapeutic knowledge with scriptural teaching and Christian principles, allowing clients to explore areas of concern in a Christ centered environment. This approach centers around Jesus’ words in John 16:33, “in this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Therapeutic approaches used in session include Person Centered paired with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychodynamic theory. Sessions with Tressia include establishing therapeutic goals, learning coping skills to manage overwhelming emotions, and empathically exploring the meaning and effects of thoughts, behaviors, and emotions on the client’s presenting concern.
Tressia works with adolescents, young adults, adults, and couples. She works with presenting concerns including anxiety, depression, grief, relationship building, conflict resolution, behavioral issues, boundaries, emotional regulation, divorce care, women’s issues, self-worth, and issues concerning faith and spirituality.
